Ok so I abandoned having the image as an overview and I am still trying to
get my overview WMS layer to work instead. My problem is it will only work
properly if the overview is declared a base layer.. however I do not want
this layer to also show on my regular map. This is why I previously created
a fake base layer.. except which ever layer is added first becomes the
default base layer so if I want my overview map to show I need to add it
first which unfortunately adds it to the map. Can I either 1 - hide the base
layer? Or 2 - somehow set the options of the overview map to layers:
[layer_Overview] without screwing up the zoom/extent etc? Because as soon as
I define the layer option my view of my overview layers is messed bigtime
all I can see is a large red box around everything not the normal sized one
and it is zoomed in way too close. Appreciate any help.
