two thoughts that occur:
1. use a javascript loop to show and then hide (or change color on) the
feature
2. use an animated flashing gif as the point marker.
I suppose one could figure out to use a css flashing property, but
others will mock you for it.
This is all without testing any of the above. Could be a good feature
though!
