We're using GeoServer and would like an OpenLayers client to be able to create and write an SLD that uses the vendor-specific geometryType function as shown in the example here: http://docs.geoserver.org/stable/en/user/styling/sld-tipstricks/mixed-geometries.html#using-non-standard-sld-functions
In addition to writing a custom filter class I've had a look at the OpenLayers.Format.Filter class and it looks like I would need to add new reading and writing functions for the custom filter. Is there anything else I should consider before starting this work?
