Gosh, since it's pretty much all in javascript, and executed on the
client side, I am guessing it hardly matters. It's very nice to have
ftp access and, later, if you develop some php scripts to support your
site, root access (not needed but nice)
I've found, for simple sites like these, anhosting and dreamhost
el-cheapo sites are just fine.
A pal and I run a small hosting company, but for this, go cheap and simple.
I will say that my one experience with godaddy was underwhelming.
