All - I provide the user with the option of several background layers. Many of the background layers need labeling. The foreground layers obscure or partially conceal labels on the background layers. I'd like to create a foreground layer for all labels that was a single WMS request (to MapServer in my case) for labels for all of my active background and foreground layers. So I need to: 1. capture layer change events 2. when layer changes happen, determine all active layers and 3. request a new 'labels' foreground layer based on the current active layers
Before I reinvent too many wheels, I'd like to ask how others have approached this problem. Any hits or suggestions would be appreciated.
