I appreciate the efforts of Stephen and yourself to help me with my difficulties! However, unless I am misunderstanding some of what you are saying, I don't think the circle *is* 1600m wide -- if it was, it would be the same size as one of the mile squares. I think the circle *and* scales are both wrong (?). I suspect that if I were to 'fix' the circle size, that the 'scale' would be fixed at the same time (?).
