Yes it is valid. If we clone a song then the cloned song should be identical to the original. This is an internal process (not an export/import) so whether or not OpenLyrics is at fault is not the issue, the degenerate cloning is!
I believe we can do this with OpenLyrics though by using verse tags v1a v1b v1c, etc and then re-importing them back as duplicate tags.
