Currently I'm just pursuing the ability to switch between multiple languages. So a song can include multiple languages, and a language switcher in slidecontroller, controlls which language to show. For displaying multiple languages at once, I would start with just having the options to show them below or next to each other. That wouldn't require and tweaking to anything, since they can be displayed in the same font etc. The next step would be to add formatting options. What do you think?
So about how this could be done (I came up with two ideas): 1. Make the slidecontroller request an update for the song using specific languages if the item supports it. I guess that would mean the least changes to the code in core. But it looks like with the current code this isn't possible as slidecontroller doesn't have access to the original data, and can't request an update. 2. Make the serviceitems include all possible combinations of languages. This would bloat the serviceitems... I guess option 1 seems the most practical. About updating serviceitems. I'm not sure on how this is supposed to work. Currently updates can be passed through, but I'm not sure on how that is done. It seems like this is always done somewhere out of the scope of slidecontroller. Does anyone have any insight on that? What do you think about the options I proposed? Do you have any own? Suggestions?
