I agree, breaking things is not good.

Still I was able to run OpenLaszlo debugger after my changes. I recall there
were issues with it, it required some non-trivial hack (namely, debugger
worked only for swfs embedded into HTML).

Which particular instruction is incorrect now? I will fix it (or ask the
guys to fix).
