Um, there is no criticism what so ever, I'm not sure where you're
going with that?
I simply wondered if it might be a marketing method since I see
countless people asking
but never any answers on the many threads I've come across.

A joomla site is a joomla site. BigBlueButton offers a Joomla plugin
at no cost. If you want to make money on it, why not offer a paid
version with a price so folks can know what that price is. I would
move our site to OM if I knew I could get a plugin at a reasonable
cost. What is that cost?
