In my opinion, marketing names are more acceptable in Kconfig for practical reasons: people often search for options with the information they have about a device. So if someone doesn't quite realize that the Freerunner they're holding is actually called "GTA02", that person may miss an option. I wonder what Marketing would think of adding a note somewhere that warns people that a lot of technical references call this "GTA02" or even (confusingly) Neo1973. (BTW, I'm very happy that we're not ending up calling GTA01 and GTA02 "Neo1973". Inside, they're quite different devices, and it would certainly have caused a lot of headache if we had given them identical names.) - Werner
