That's pretty much standard practice. We also use quite a few "2410" drivers, even though our chip is a 2442. Another important aspect of the GTA01 etc. naming scheme is that it gives us compact and consistent names. If we make a GTA03, it'll be obvious that it's from the same family, no matter what name marketing will put on it. - Werner
