I have unsolicited signal quality messages coming in and I'm 99% sure
that is what wakes up my device. I get them fairly often even when it is
just sitting on the table. No walking around required for me (which is
good because I am pretty lazy).
Yeah, you guys probably get cell broadcasts and time information from
GSM, neither of which is available in germany :/
:M
This reminds me.. how do I ask GSM to give me unsolicited time
information?
self.enqueue( "+CTZU=1" ) # timezone update: send unsol. code
self.enqueue( "+CTZR=1" ) # timezone reporting: send unsol. code
This gets me a "+CTZV: 138" but nothing with a time/date in it. Would
that be an NITZ?
I could also use some help with gprs. Would anyone like to
educate me better on controlling the modem?
See Holger's blog post (on planet.openmoko.org). Since lots of people asked
for it, I'll check whether I can put GPRS into the framework a bit earlier.
