And so... how does a developer find out?  Which documentation reveals
this?

In case it's guesswork, a way to help the poor newbie try different
settings in an intelligent / most-likely-to-work order would be good.
Maybe hints in the cfg files?

(I googled a lot till I found the old setting, and only started doing
that when I wondered if maybe the cfg had once worked, just perhaps.)

Also, what are the consequences of using srts_pulls_trst on a chip/board
that does not "need" it?
