I think you can copy a non-stripped binary along with all the sources
to your Windows install and run it inside gdb that's provided by
mingw. When i was debugging the issue i was compiling it natively with
mingw but that shouldn't make any difference in the end.

BTW, a bit of offtopic but probably other sufferers might find this
useful: i came to the conclusion that windows might be tolerable if
one installs mingw (or cygwin), mintty and (very important) the
"bug.n" tiling window manager.
