I'm surprised that you think that preference determines how much people can contribute to a project. > For example, I will prefer to have more frequent release for the > projects I am involved in, say at least one release per year. I don't understand what role preference plays. I prefer for every project to have amazing developments every day, but sadly that doesn't happen, usually because developers don't have time. Unfortunately no amount of preference can change that. :\ > You will probably have infrequent release like every two years or > every 10 years... I already wrote that I tend to prefer feature based releases, so it's odd that you suggest that I prefer time based releases. The definition of time based release is that release happens after some fixed time, regardless of the code. The definition of feature based release is that release happens when some code is completed, regardless of time. Each branch can only have one release policy at a time, but different branches can of course have different policies. Time based release are only good for projects with very intense activity. //Peter ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Symantec Endpoint Protection 12 positioned as A LEADER in The Forrester Wave(TM): Endpoint Security, Q1 2013 and "remains a good choice" in the endpoint security space.
