Apparently there was a discussion as to whether this was the right way to address the problem. I, obviously, haven't followed that discussion and since I'm just a humble committer :-) I'll respect that the list wants to discuss this further before deciding on a solution. I'll be happy to commit whatever solution to this problem that the community is comfortable with.
