It is, as long as you manage to send it in plain ASCII format ;-)
Well, it probably uses bytes :-)
If I need to fire up a browser (or other viewer) in order to read a
mail, I will probably not bother and just skip it.
I think most people's mail clients can cope. It feels quite wrong, but
would make it easier to include code snippets within text and still
have it readable.
