Yes, I was waiting for someone to say something.  The documentation for
them even talks about how you need to uncomment a line.  I just forgot
to add that comment before committing.  I was thinking about adding a
"--enable-extra-goodies" or some such option to make it, but anyone that
wants to use those commands for what they are intended (code examples)
must be able to manage changing and recompiling the code for themselves.
