I think it would suffice to just make sure that both
ARM11: partial support for standard ARM register interfaces.
ARM11: remove old R0..R15/CPSR code
are included, or neither -- just to help establish whether
the issue you're seeing is related to breakpoint code using
the wrong view of something in r0..r15/cpsr. Before the
first, or after the last, that confusion couldn't exist.
(I didn't think it would be likely to happen in between,
but you're seeing pretty strange behavior.)

I've not yet reproduced it, because some unrelated issues cropped
up first ... gotta sort those first.
