I've worked with folk who rely on it. It might be fair to have OpenOCD emit a warning if it's configured for multi-TAP configurations ... ... except that would trigger wrongly in all OMAP and DaVinci configs, plus others. That seems like the most we should really do is make sure users get properly educated.
