As a maintainer, I'm not terribly excited about bitbanging and other
non-CPU related protocols. Projects like UrJTAG pursue
this sort of avenue. I'd like to see OpenOCD focusing on CPUs.

I'd like to see openocd as an on-chip debugger, as a robust software implementing jtag swd trace solution. I'd like to see urjtag as a universal jtag solution, as a robust software implementing boundary scan solution. I'd not like to see openocd nor urjtag as a generic software allowing the users to bitbang an usb io port. That's the better way to have long term issues, and more support for nothing usable.
