Welcome, everyone, to the August 2017 Open Organization Ambassadors Report!
August was a successful month for us. We published 10 total articles
about open organizational culture and design, four of which came from
ambassadors (thank you!). All told, open organization material generated
16,089 page views at Opensource.com.
And on top of all that, we officially launched our newest
community-driven book project! Many ambassadors are already involved,
and we're so grateful for the collaboration on what is shaping up to be
a truly stellar project.
Read on for more details about all the ambassador community was able to
accomplish this month. And thanks, as always, for making this team so great!

Jason

#### {4} Monthly Highlights ####

In August, the open organization community officially announced the next
Open Organization book project [1], tentatively titled "The Open
Organization Workbook." A collaborative effort, the book is taking shape
on GitHub [2].

Three ambassadors—Chad Whitacre, Sam Knuth, and Jen Kelchner—will appear
on stage with DeLisa Alexander at the All Things Open conference in
Raleigh this fall, as part of a panel discussing open organizational
culture [3].

Jen Kelchner and colleagues at LDR21 are constructing an electronic
platform teams and their leaders can use to gauge progress on open
change initiatives. The platform, called Dragonfli [4], offers a suite
of software profiling tools for assessing the ways individuals, teams,
and departments contribute to the organization, and helps them discover
ways to build open culture and implement sustainable change. Dragonfli
leverages and builds upon the recently completed Open Organization
Maturity Model [5]. The tool enters wide beta testing later this fall.

#### {5} Looking Ahead ####
###########################
Our next ambassador meeting will occur on September 12. Please note that
this is a Tuesday, and thus a departure from our normal cadence (Bryan
and Jason have an all-day meeting on what would be the date of our
regular meeting). All ambassadors should feel free to add their notes to
the collaborative meeting agenda [1].

The "Open Organization workbook" project is developing splendidly, and
many stellar organizations have already signed up to contribute case
studies. But we still have one or two high-priority gaps in our proposed
table of contents [2]. Know someone who can help fill them? Let us know.
