Welcome, friends, to the April 2018 Open Organization Ambassadors Report!
April was a busy month for us. We published 6 articles in April, each
from a different member of the community. In all, open organization
materials generated 14,374 page views at Opensource.com. And we added 80
newsletter subscribers and 45 Twitter followers.
Those are truly remarkable numbers—but perhaps not so surprising from
this truly remarkable community. Read on to learn more about all we
accomplished together last month, to see what's in store for May, and to
catch up with your fellow ambassadors around the globe.

* The Open Organization Ambassadors welcomed their newest member in
April: Heidi Hess von Ludewig of Red Hat [1]. Heidi contributed
significantly to the _Open Organization Workbook_, is producing a new
article series for Opensource.com, and will appear on stage at Red Hat
Summit as part of an ambassador-led panel on organizational culture. She
also marked her debut by publishing the second most-read OpenOrg article
of April. Welcome, Heidi!
* A community-produced, second edition of _The Open Organization Leaders
Manual_ officially opened for production in April, and the book's table
of contents [2] is already populated with new and exciting ideas. The
volume, scheduled for release in December, is shaping up well.

#### {5} Looking Ahead ####
###########################
The Open Organization Ambassadors are coming to Red Hat Summit! The
ambassador-led, culture-focused panel, "Tips for Transforming into an
Open Organization," debuts May 8 at 4:30 p.m. local time [1].
Ambassadors Jen Kelchner, Laura Hilliger, Jimmy Sjölund, Heidi Hess von
Ludewig, and Sam Knuth will take the stage, and your humble newsletter
editor will moderate their discussion. Be there or be square.

The next ambassador meeting will occur May 17 at 10:00 Eastern / 14:00
UTC. The agenda is online and ready for attendee input [2]. Anyone
attending should feel free to add notes and agenda items.

We've begun working on the second edition of _The Open Organization
Leaders Manual_, and it's looking great. In May, we'll be firming up the
book's table of contents, then working with authors to polish chapter
drafts due over the summer. Want to participate? Join us on GitHub [3]!

Jimmy Sjölund writes:
"In April I held a lightning talk at Lean Tribe Gathering 47 in
Stockholm [1] on the topic of Agile Transformation, which was based on
the case study I wrote for the Open Organization Workbook ("How learning
to collaborate led to customer success"). It was about 100 people in the
audience—a mix of agile coaches, managers, and others."
