Greetings, fine people, and welcome to the October edition of the
Ambassadors Report!
October was another excellent month for the open organization community
at Opensource.com. We published five new articles, _all_ of which came
from members of the Open Organization Ambassador community. Overall,
open organization materials generated 14,660 page views, and volumes in
the _Open Organization_ book series saw 307 total downloads.
As the Raleigh air grows chillier and the days here grow shorter, the
amazing effort, keen intellect, and staunch determination of the Open
Organization community continue to warm my heart. Thank you.
Editorially yours (and by now thoroughly pumpkin-spiced),
Bryan

In October, the community welcomed its newest Open Organization
Ambassador: Michael Doyle![1,2] Hailing from Queensland, Australia,
Michael is a professional coach specializing in open organizational
culture and open leadership methodologies. He's been a long-time reader,
interlocutor, and adviser in the open organization community at
Opensource.com, and we're thrilled that he's agreed to take on this new
role. Not wasting any time, Michael published two articles in October.

Work on the second edition of _The Open Organization Leaders Manual_ is
nearing completion, and the community is preparing for the book's
December launch. The community is now proofreading the book manuscript
to catch errant typos and make final changes. Want to help? You can
pitch in![3]

Ambassador Jen Kelchner (LDR21) helped facilitate the newest iteration
of The Open Organization Academy, a workshop-style event designed to
introduce participants to the core tenets of open organizational
culture. Jen and Bryan delivered the session at a Red Hat offsite
gathering, October 17 through 19.

Robin Muilwijk writes:
"October 28 marks a milestone for me. That's when I'll have been active
in open source for exactly 15 years. To make that even more special,
I'll be starting a new job as Open Source Manager at [https://iohk.io/].
This technology company focuses on both research and engineering
(blockchain). At the moment, it's a fully distributed company, which is
interesting as it builds on trust and accountability (not unfamiliar to
us). In my role, I'll be implementing open source principles, strategy,
and also community strategy. I will also help foster and maintain an
open culture in the company and ecosystem. So enough common ground with
the open organization."

{See you in 30! Stay spooky!—BB}
