## {1} Editor's Notes
As we drift steadily past 2019's midpoint, we pause to recognize
everything that makes our community so great. June is our anniversary
month, and we celebrated in style. The open organization community at
Opensource.com published four new articles and an updated book in June.
And in all, our materials generated 13,549 page views at Opensource.com.
We continued some amazing work on the next volume of the _Open
Organization_ book series, and we reflected a bit on Red Hat Summit in May.
Read on to learn more about what's going on in the open organization
community—and how you can get involved.
Editorially yours,
Bryan

## {4} Monthly Highlights
* The open organization community at Opensource.com celebrated its
fourth anniversary in June with a retrospective article discussing the
power of global collaboration.[1] Moreover, to mark the fourth
anniversary of _The Open Organization_ by Jim Whitehurst, Opensource.com
released an updated version of Jim's follow-up book, _Organize for
Innovation_, available both electronically and as a paperback.[2]
* Katie-Gray Altmann and Bryan Behrenshausen published a reflection on
their experience creating and executing the Open Organization booth
experience at Red Hat Summit. In an article for the Red Hat blog,
Katie-Gray and Bryan explain what conversations with attendees taught
them about open organizational culture and its challenges.[3]
* Development of the next book in the _Open Organization_ book series,
_The Open Organization Guide for Educators_, continued apace in June, as
authors polished their work in preparation of a July deadline for edited
chapters. The book features more than 20 pieces about open organization
principles at work in educational organizations of all levels and types.[4]
