I think I'm going to make this status report a weekly thing. Let me know if
you find it useful or not. I will try to be brief.

Piotrf - Has been working diligently on icd (Intelligent Call Distribution).
Apparently there are some issues with the way openpbx.org hangs up channels.
Feedback and testing from others would be welcome.

EgnarF - who is now on vacation, has an experimental timer and generic
jitterbuffer for testing. He has applied his timer to app_conference too.
The timer uses POSIX threads and should remove zaptel dependence for
features that require timing. The timer still needs to be tested with IAX
trunking and for scalability. So far results are promising.

NewSole - had some success in converting the timing technique to work under
Windows (native, using .net) using media timers.

Jcollie - helped us say "goodbye" to Allison this week. The sound files
from Melanie are available in a separate branch. The sounds are in
high-quality wavs. Jcollie has shared his tool for converting the sounds to
other more suitable formats.

Coppice - I had the opportunity to ask Coppice about t.38 support this week
and he indicated most of the pieces are in place. There is a patch for
Asterisk that will allow t.38 passthrough. We should look at adapting it
for our needs. More info on t.38 on the wiki.

If you have an opbx project you would like help with or need somebody to
help test let me know and I can try to help you get matched up with somebody
who can help. Also if anybody would like to write up how to install opbx on
their favorite distro (or OS) and add it to the wiki, that would be nice.
There are a few gotchas in getting it running on Debian I would like to
document. The existing wiki installation information is woefully out of
synch with reality.

Also, Openpbx.org runs as a non-root user. If anyone has ideas about how to
implement QoS as a non-root user please post them to this list or give them
a try and submit a patch.

There is really a lot happening when you take a look. Until next week.

-Spackle
