Doug,
Simply try installing everything from source.
SpanDSP from http://soft-switch.org
Then add the path to your /etc/ld.so.conf file, run
ldconfig, ldconfig --print-cache | grep spandsp
is your friend. Then proceed with the OpenPBX
install.
