Hi list,

I've been looking with interest at openpbx.org for a while now and am
impressed with the progress made on the project. I'm a long time user of
spandsp and am looking forward to doing some work with t.38 :)

I have another question though, reading through the notes regarding
openpbx.org and nconference, I see that openpbx uses internal timers and
that nconference supports VAD. I have a client interested in using openpbx
with some satellite system ATA's that only support G729B and G729AB. I am
curious to find out whether openpbx can support VAD well enough to enable
G729AB. The Digium G729 codec is advertised as supporting G729AB and G729B.
I have so far been working with Asterisk and ooh323 and have been able to
establish comms with older satellite ATA's using the IPP g723.1 codec.
Examination of the patches for the IPP G.729 codec shows that Intel support
G729AB and G729B and that the current patch just disables VAD in operation.

I have seen this post
http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg00106.html but it
doesn't really answer the question. Licensing issues aside, can anyone
think of any reason why openpbx couldn't do G729AB?

Craig
