I've created a dirty, but useful hack if AT&T is your local calling provider. Perhaps this will be useful to someone other than me...
This script creates OpenPBX or Asterisk extension matches for area codes and prefixes which are treated as "Local Calls" by AT&T and do not incur local-toll or long-distance charges when called from the area code and prefix you enter here. The script downloads the current extensions and prefixes of types "Band A" and "Band B" from http://localcalling.sbc.com/LCA/lca_input.jsp. The resulting file contents should be included in the "trunklocal" context of your OpenPBX or Asterisk "extensions.conf" file. http://messinet.com/project/openpbx_local_exten -- Anthony - http://messinet.com - http://messinet.com/~amessina/gallery 8F89 5E72 8DF0 BCF0 10BE 9967 92DC 35DC B001 4A4E
