No, we once tried it a few months ago on an old IRIX box and encountered
the same problems. The CPIO problem also occurs on HPUX, so it seems a
general RPM bug. But we're currently in the process of upgrading to RPM
4.1, we will not further debug RPM 4.0.4 for those new platforms. But
once we're at 4.1, we can debug it if we again have access to an IRIX
box.
