Okay, thanks - I'd missed this.
* Is there currently any mechanism to give the bootstrap script an
alternative CC value? CC=cc in the environment doesn't seem to have any
effect.
Try "sh openpkg...sh --help", there are --use_XXX= variables.
Ah - I was trying to use the Release version, to which these options
hadn't yet been added.
As far as i can see there are currently at lease 3 persons interested in
this. Doug Summers, Doug Henry and me. I hoped that IRIX could be ready
for the next release (BASE+CORE). When you are willing to help, this would
be great.
As I mentioned, I've been fixing bits of pkgsrc - but there don't seem to
be any IRIX-using maintainers, so getting patches accepted seems to be a
bit of an uphill struggle. Hopefully openpkg will be better all around ;)
I've got a 2x400MHz Octane2/V12 with 2Gb memory and the MIPSpro 7.4.3m
compiler suite, and I'm happy to help in getting IRIX to the stage where
it can be an officially supported platform.
Cheers,
Stuart
