OK, I now found that Zope definitely does NOT work with Python 2.5 (no matter which version) - we have to use Python 2.4.4 instead. [http://zope.org/Products/Zope/2.9.6/Zope-2_9_6-released]: "Zope 2.9 requires Python 2.4.3+ (Python 2.4.2 is still acceptable). Older Python versions are no longer supported. Also Python 2.5 is unsupported (and not working)." Thus, I would suggest to replace the python-2.5 package of the stable branch by a python-2.4.4 package. In the entire OpenPKG tree, I can only find Python versions 2.5 and 2.4.2, but not the one required to work with Zope! At ftp://ftp.celestial.com/private/ftp.openpkg.org/release/2.5/SRC/ I see Python 2.4.3 - which seems to be the only available OpenPKG package that would work with Zope.
