thank you Bill, it seems that I am now close to final success on the
long road...
I have installed your python-pil (and all the lots of its
dependencies) and all the PIL related errors went away in Zope's
"event.log". What about adding python-pil as required pre-requisite
to your zope-plone?

Really want to fix them as well, but again have no idea how to do this
via OpenPKG. Anyway, the best news is that I have now the "Plone Site"
item in the "Add" drop-down list of ZMI :-)
