I have written a set of scripts to mirror the OpenCores Subversion
repositories as Git repositories, the documentation is here:

The scripts are meant to be run on a public server, but they can also
run locally in order to create a personal mirror.
Last time I tried, I had some difficulties (which were discussed in this
list), but something must have improved in the meantime at the OpenCores
site, as the mirroring process seems to work fine now.
If you are interested, I would appreciate that you ran the script
locally and gave me some feedback.
