When I come across references to CVS repositories I instantly cringe and hope I am staring at some outdated blog post. I believe the reason there is so much confusion is there a lack of a definitive authority. The OpenCores and OpenRISC website feel outdated. Neither one screams that it is the authoritative site to check. The only date on the OpenRISC page is the last modified time. If you correct those issues, I believe outdated documentation would be of little consequence.
