This repo rearrangement has been discussed for a while now, and it feels
like we are getting closer to finding out exactly how we want to do it.
Using or1ksim as a guinea pig is a good idea. I'll discuss the git part
with Marcus this weekend. There are some other parts that could be worked
on after that. A while back I put up an orpsoc project on OpenCores as a
placeholder. Julius and Stefan were added as co-maintainers, as they were
most active at the time. I'm not sure if we want to put up orpsocv2 there,
or wait until orpsocv3 becomes somewhat usable. I have also pointed out
several other components that could be moved out with some effort. Franck
Jullien seems to be doing a good job of extending what Julius started on
openocd a while back. If we could get the last pieces in place, we wouldn't
need to maintain or_debux_proxy anymore. orpmon should be feature-checked
against u-boot to ensure that there aren't any killer features in orpmon
that we want to have ported (a bit unlikely, but still). The RTOS stuff is
a different beast too, and we should brainstorm a bit about that. All in
all, we can do this, but we really need to focus and start working on
finishing a few things before we can do a switch. A good way would be to
put up a roadmap on the wiki, so that we can get a clear view on what needs
to be done for each of the sub components in the main repo, and then just
start working on those items.

I haven't had the same problems as you with SVN - not since Olof fixed
