Hello all.

I return to Southampton on Monday, and as promised I'm willing to play with
some extensions for Apache. The main ones mentioned were mod_php, mod_perl
with perl 5.6 and mod_throttle.

Just a few questions about this:

Daniel, are you well on the way to mod_php-dom? I just ask so as to avoid
reinventing the wheel <g>

Which of the above do folks want first. I personally intend to do mod_php
first, I think, but if people have views otherwise I'll be welcome to
investigate.

mod_throttle is in here at the request of Jim; anyone else want
mod_throttle. For me it's just another server adornment as my server has a
few hits a day at best, but if it's popular I'll set a few hours to it.

Some other questions now:

My apache never erases its PID file when it shuts down, and so whines when
started again. Is this just me?

The installer didn't set up my php.ini file right concerning mail addr and
SMTP server - again is this just my bad luck?

Some mention of PHP's reliance on ODBC would be useful, complete with a link
to the relevant place to download them. Yet again I have been caught out by
this (I spent ages wondering why Apache said it couldn't find
/path/to/php.exe/path/to/script (!))

I know from my logs that people have been seeing my mod_perl instructions -
how did people get on with them? Which bits were confusing/too brief/just
plain wrong?

Daniel, which bits of OpenSA are you working on at the minute?

I think that's all for now.

Regards to all,

Luke
