You forgot to mention Virtual Smart Card Architecture http://sourceforge.net/projects/vsmartcard/ ;-) It includes a virtual smartcard (Python) with some SM and a CCID-Emulator. The latter works with Linux only, but it is possible to literally plug into an computer as a smartcard reader. I used virtual smartcard and reader to use my mobile phone (OpenMoko) as authentication token on an other PC via USB, more smartcard use cases are possible! Cheers, Frank.
