Yes they released a version 8.1 for MAC 10.7 about 11/2011 that works fine.
I have not been able to get the Aladdin 72K JAVA tokens to work with OpenSC. So
if you go with the safenet tokens then your likely going to have to build on
the proprietary / closed-source stack.

GEMALTO has some tokens as well that I have gotten to work but never put them
into daily use. I think that GEMALTO is supported by OpenSC but better minds
than me can comment on that. http://www.gemalto.com/products/usb_eseal_token/

Subject: Re: [opensc-devel] Recommendation for USB smartcard on OSX?

The SafeNet salesperson didn't seem to know about their OSX support — I know
they supported 10.5, but do you know if they support more recent versions?

We're don't necessarily need it to support OpenSC — the only things I'm really
interested in is PKCS11 support and Keychain integration. I would definitely
prefer to build on top of an open-source project rather than some proprietary /
closed-source stack if possible, though.

Any pointers / suggestions for specific products?

Thanks again,

Both, I suppose. "USB Token" seems to be the term used on the
OpenSC wiki — basically, something like the Aladdin eToken Pro:
http://www.opensc-project.org/opensc/wiki/AladdinEtokenPro (From speaking with
Aladdin / SafeNet, though, it sounds like the CardOS version of the eToken Pro
is end-of-life, and won't be produced anymore.)
