The Swedish banks already have this (sort of) in the form of iPhone and
Android apps.  IMO, it works quite well.

Unlike the smart card industries' super-lame products which presumes
physical distribution of credentials (disregarding the fact that we live
in an on-line world), the banks' system sports a built-in enrollment
solution that the end-user itself uses!
