It seems to be a problem related to OpenLayers version. I tried you test using OpenLayers.js 2.11 instead of OpenLayers.js 2.12 (that you use) and it works. http://openlayers.org/download/OpenLayers-2.11.zip Overwrite your OpenLayers.js with the one contained into the zip and let me known.
