So could we deprecate it, put it in a different directory, and not even compile it in anymore? Or what do you mean by "for comparison", does it need to keep being extended and built? > What features would > you need to be moved over ??. Most of it should be there or was > rewritten. There are still some things that need ported (like billboard, LOD nodes) and all the new things have have been going into 1.8 will need ported. It would also be nice to put the callbacks into the node cores instead of in a single init cpp file. I was hoping that if we just deprecated the RenderAction then it would help focus the effort on the action that we actually want people using, RenderTraversalAction. My reasoning for suggesting this is probably based on my on going frustration that it seems there is more effort being put into the 1.8 line then the 2.0 line even though it seems that the core (render actions, fcptrs, etc) for the 1.8 line has been deprecated and replaced for the future (ie. 2.0 and forward). We have a small community with limited resources and I would like to see those resources spent on making the new code better and extending it rather then maintaining and adding to the old code line. Am I alone in this concern? -Allen > > gerrit > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Take Surveys. Earn Cash.
