No. But I'm more worried about effort put into actual 1.8 than 1.8 remnants in 
2.0. I don't think anybody is seriously considering/working on porting changes 
to the RA that were done in 1.8 into 2.0, so we don't lose anything there.

There is still some effort going into 1.89, but I hope we can stop that once we 
have an actual 1.8.

There is a lot of cleanup to be done in 2.0 once it's getting more stable, but 
I'm not too worried about leaving stuff in there until then.
