Hi, I still have the filename-callback for the scenefilehandler for a notice of the begin/end of a read operations pending - there are some weird linking problems - it seems the linker kicks the get/set methods for the callbacks out of the lib...both on linux and win/msvc8. That's why i have not checked it in yet - I'll have another look at it tomorrow - but I'd really like to have it in 1.8 as it will make debugging multi-file-vrml scenes easier as one then knows which file causes loading problems.
