Hi Michael,

Welcome to using git. There is a learning curve; but, for me at least, it is
well worth it. On windows I use the Git bash shell that comes with
the git<http://git-scm.com/>installer for windows. This will install
a new menu to the right-click menu
that opens up a cygwin bash shell. I would recommend this if you want a
consistent interface between using git on windows/linux/os x. There is
also, TortoiseGIT <http://code.google.com/p/tortoisegit/>, which is becoming
more stable than a year ago. It provides a completely GUI driven interface
to all git commands.

Cheer,
David K.
