It would be _really_ nice if you could include the .pdb-files as well.
Don't you also need the source code to anything useful with it?
No really. You get a much more informative call stack, with function
names rather than just addresses in to the OSG-dlls, even without the
source.
I think, if you have the source, you can step through the source of each
function and see which line made what call. However, source might be
included in the .pdb as well. I will check this.
There are two flavors of .pdb, full and stripped. IIRC the latter only
has function names in it, whereas the first also has local variables and
so on, so it is less 'secure' if you don't trust your customers. :)
We could include the pdb files in the dists, but they would probably add
another 22-25 MB to the download (the uncompressed ones are ~150 MB), so
I don't really want to do that if it's not all that helpful.
Comments?
Hm. Making the pdb files available as a separate download would work,
but that would add work/complexity to the build system.
Otherwise, the dailybuild works like a charm. :)
That's good to hear. ;)
Sure. I can't really express how good the support & stability of OpenSG
is. It is quite amazing. :-)
Our first project (the reason we met in Minneapolis) is almost done, so
once we start to put out marketing material I'll make sure to post some
stuff here so you can see the results. (There's lots of NDA's
surrounding this still, but it will go public in April, so I hope I'm
allowed to show you all what me and my colleagues have been doing the
last year. :)
Regards
/Marcus
