I think what he is talking about is the following: If you e.g. look at the documentation of osg::MaterialChunk ( http://www.opensg.org/doc-1.6.0/classosg_1_1MaterialChunk.html ) there is a link at the top where the different Chunks and state-handling are explained ( http://www.opensg.org/doc-1.6.0/PageSystemState.html#PageSystemMaterialChunk ).

Hello Dirk,
Am I right ??? To answere your question: Yes, I used these links and they helped me a lot.

Unfortunately, in this case, it took me quite a while to get there, as there is not much doco on Chunks in the starter guide and I think there is no example in the tutorials. I came from the side: glPolygonMode(GL_FRONT, GL_LINE), how do I do this in OpenSG ......

What I possibly would find helpful are more frequent releases. So far I develop within MS Visual Studio, use the precompiled releases and try to avoid to compile my own version from source (Even if I think of doing that, as I would like to use it with XP64 and VS2005).
So, the information that something is fixed or that there is now the feature I want and I just need to load down the daily build does not help me very much.

Further I must say, that I teached myself OpenSG without any local support (I am the only one here who is doing development for visualization) and I think that I am able to use it - at least concerning the core concepts. So the documentation can not be so bad as it sometimes sounds here. However, some of the more specialized classes would need some doco. I, for example, wanted to use the "DVRVolume" etc .. classes and tried to understand how it works (because I wanted to use it with OpenGL Shading Language). But without any documentation, which class is doing what, I gave up (and fortunately was able to use it without understanding how it works).

Some examples on more advanced topics (how to set up cave, stereo-clusterwall ...) would be nice :-)

Kind regards,
Bjoern Zehner
