It's essentially an equivalence class for Attachments. You can have 
different classes that exclude each other from the attachment slots, 
i.e. you can only have one instance of each equivalenc class attached to 
an AttachmentContainer at any given time (modulo IDs, that is).

The question is: has anybody ever used that? If not I would argue for 
removing it in the interest of simplification.
