it seems that not even the SystemLib could be built, but it's very hard to
pinpoint the problem without further info. Could you redirect the output
of make to a logfile and send it to the list? (E.g. by saying
"make opt 2>logfile.txt")

well, building OpenSG on Linux systems is fairly trivial so there's
something strange going on indeed...
